History
The company Colour Connection, originally operating as a fair trader, merged with Hanfzeit in 1999 to form HempAge AG. The guiding principle was to produce and distribute ecological textiles in a fair manner. Above all, there was a strong desire to restore hemp, a raw material neglected in recent decades, to the prominence it truly deserves.
A long journey began, starting with the handwoven, plant-dyed hemp fabrics from Thailand, moving through industrial production in Romania, and ultimately leading to the excellent quality we now achieve with our Chinese partners.
Our commitment goes beyond the development and distribution of textiles; it also includes research in the areas of fiber extraction and further processing. Additionally, we collaborate with European committees dedicated to promoting hemp in other industries, such as insulation materials and composite fibers.
In 2012, HempAge, together with three other partners, founded a research company to address a specific technological bottleneck in the further processing of hemp.
